Displays

S :   Top display shows the main setpoint in normal position, and shows the kickout setpoint when you press and hold the KO button.

F :   Middle display shows the feeder speed all the time. When the gin breast is out, this display shows the speed that the gin stand will start at when the breast is put in.

M :   Bottom display shows the saw motor load at all times.

The operation of the gin stand begins with the auto/man selector switch in the manual mode. Increase the feeder speed using the up button. When you reach the ginning rate you want, look at the M (bottom) display.

This display shows the load on the saw motor. It doesn't matter if this number is 13 or 85, your goal is to make the gin stand run at this number all the time.

While you press and hold in the auto button in, use the up and down buttons to adjust the S (top) display to show the same number that shows on the M (bottom) display.

Then you press and hold the KO button in and again using the up and down buttons, adjust the kickout setpoint about 5 or 6 points above the main setpoint number.

The kickout setpoint can be closer to the main setpoint number if you want the gin stand to be more sensitive when the seed roll gets tight. If it kicks out too much, raise the kickout setpoint.

Now you adjust the gin stand start speed. This is the speed the feeder starts at when the gin stand breast is put "in". This number should be about 10 points below the normal feeder speed when the stand is ginning.

You simply lower the F (middle) display 10 points, then place the auto/man selector switch in auto.

The gin stand feeder should slowly go up until the M display is the same as the S display. At any time you walk by the gin stand, the S display and the M display should be close to the same number.

The middle display will automatically go up or down to keep the gin stand motor loaded to the setpoint that you determine.

If you want to gin faster, simply raise the auto setpoint. Keep in mind that when you change the auto setpoint (top display), you should change the KO setpoint to keep the same distance between the two numbers.

In auto, you will be able to determine when green or wet cotton comes into the gin stand because the F display will slow down to keep the M display the same as the S display.

While the gin stand is running, you can check the kickout setpoint at any time by simply pressing the KO button in and looking at the top display.

You can check the "feeder start speed" at any time. Watch the F (middle) display and notice what number the controller goes to when you place the auto/man selector switch in man mode. The number should be about 10 points below the actual feeder speed that the stand is running at when you are ginning.
