The Ziph GinDry is the only refrigerated compressed air dryer made
exclusively for a cotton gin.
It does not use messy dessicants to absorb most of the moisture, it uses a refrigerated liquid to lower the temperature of the compressed air.
How it works: The air from the compressor tanks come into the GinDry. It is routed to a 1" copper sprial tubing inside a chilled medium that brings down the compressed air temperature to below 38 degrees.
This drops any water present in the air and using a centrifical gravity theory, the water is collected in a tank.
When the tank fills, the water is exited through an exhaust pipe outside the gin.
The completely dry air then goes to the gin equipment.
The condenser on the gin dry is the unique design for a cotton gin. It does not have a radiator, but a 1/2" copper coil with 1 inch spacing for the lint to exit easily.
These units are very high capacity. Oasis Gin in Gaines County, Tx. has a Ziph GinDry that dries the air on 6 compressors, at the same time.
