The Ziph Automatic Gin Stand Controller
has been on the market for
approximately 11 years.

Click to Enlarge We currently have about 650 gin stand controllers in about 150 gins all across the United States, from Arizona to North Carolina, with 4 in Mexico and 3 in Brazil.

What makes it different from the others?

The Ziph Gin Stand Controller uses board-level electronics instead of a PLC. This gives us the ability to write a computer program specifically for a cotton gin stand from the ground up. We can make the controller perform functions much faster and more efficient than a normal controller.

How does the automation work?

The automatic sequence, which is the heart of the controller monitors the amp load on the saw motor. The exact point of contact, where the saw pulls the lint off of the seed is our focus point. Some controllers mistakenly monitor the seed roll agitator shaft, but we use the saw motor because that is where the action takes place.

The controller will feed the cotton at the exact amount to keep the saw motor amp the same. When the cotton coming into the gin becomes damp or green, the controller will automatically slow down the feeder motor to lower the feed rate into the saw. This prevents the gin stand from choking and squealing the belts when the gin hand is not around to monitor it closely.

The very second the cotton coming into the gin changes again and becomes drier, the controller speeds the feeder motor up and more cotton is fed into the saw.

This process is very smooth and stable. The board level electronics and the custom software we use enables us to achieve this thousands of times in a 24 hour period, resulting in the performance that made this controller famous.

What will it do for my gin?

You will gin more cotton each shift. Period. Guaranteed. We have put the Ziph Automatic Gin Stand Controller in about 150 cotton gins and never have we had even one gin say the controllers did not raise the average bales per day.

In fact, this controller has raised the average bales from a minimum of 1/2 bale per hour increase per gin stand to 2 bales per hour increase per gin stand.

We even offer a money back guarantee if the customer is not happy with the performance. Not many companies will do that in this industry. And (to date),we have never been asked to give any money back.

Watch the Rotan Gin video and see what Jim has to say about the controllers.

Also, we have many satisfied customers we can refer you to and you can ask them what they think.

The Ziph automation goal:

To gin more bales every day with the equipment you have.
