Ziph Automatic Gin Stand Controller
Installation Instructions
Mount the front and back boxes. If your current back box is large enough, take the existing equipment out of your box and install the Ziph back plate in your existing box.
Install 2 pieces of ½ inch flex conduit from the front box to the back box.
The DC conduit will have 13 wires of 16 gauge stranded wire and the AC conduit will have 6 wires of 16 gauge stranded wire.
Never run DC and AC wires in the same conduit.
Wire-mark the 13 wire conduit with numbers 1-12, and have you will have one spare wire. Wire-mark the 6 wire conduit with numbers 20, 21, 22, 23 and you will have 2 spare wires left.
Notice in the back box that the terminal blocks are blue and white. Blue is the DC wires and White is the AC wires. Never ever terminate an AC wire to a blue terminal block and never terminate a DC wire to a white terminal block.
All DC wires marked 1-12 terminate on the blue blocks in the back box and to the terminal strip in the front box. Note that the front box terminal strip wiring sequence is
at the bottom of the wiring diagram.
AC wires 20 and 21 terminate in the front box on the blue connector on the bottom LEFT HAND SIDE of the main board in the front box. AC wires 22 and 23 go to the power on/off switch in the front box.
Pull all the wires and conduit listed below needed to run the controller to the Back Box.
Everything goes to the Back Box that includes but is not limited to the following:
120 volts AC – The L1 should terminate on white terminal block 22 and the Neutral should terminate on the white block labeled “N”.
Current Transformer wires – These wires come from the Saw Motor where the CT is installed and go to the back box and terminate under the white terminal blocks 20 and 21.
Air solenoid switch - These terminate under block 31 and block N. If it is an air valve, be sure to run the 12 wire on the DC side (blue) to the number 2 relay.
If it is a rotate motor, run the 11 wire on the DC side (blue) to the number 2 relay. Use either 11, or 12, but not both.
