The purpose of the Ziph Automatic Lint Cleaner Controller is to decrease the
amount of good lint blowing through the screen when the gin breast is put in.
This particular controller does not increase the capacity of the lint cleaner, but it will increase it's efficiency, which helps the farmer's lint turnout.
The lint cleaner drum must have a variable speed drive system in place for the controller to work. Either AC or DC drives will work, as long as they have adjustable speeds.
Here's how the controller works:
When the gin breast is pulled out, the lint cleaner will run at the maximum speed for a short period of time, then go to a "slow" speed.
This gives the lint cleaner time to clear all the cotton coming from the gin stand that is still suspended in the tin work.
It will stay in this "slow" mode and when the gin breast is put in, the drum will build the "bat thickness" very fast compared to a fast running drum.
Then the controller increases the lint cleaner to the maximum speed.
The result? Less lint in your trash pile and better turnout for the farmer!
